I will go. Recent J-45 Custom Shop purchase. Bear Claw Engelmann over Koa back and sides. Brand new so I am still breaking this one in. Loud and resonant. My first Koa guitar and I am liking it.

Not mine—this was in the Bourgeois “booth” at the Artisan Guitar Show last year—but it has some of the most clawed bear claw I’ve ever seen.

Hey, Lefty, that is an amazing looking guitar from Dana Beargeois' cave.
(My first sin of the day....).

Cheers,

David

Took up guitar in mid-teens. Still mis-spending mine.

And I'm a practicing septuagenarian, except when playing out.

Be well and spend well,

Don

I always post these pics of my D-21 Special cuz it actually looks like a bear clawed the Sitka tree.

I'll play...

This is a John Kinnaird guitar that has a lot going on including this wonderful Bearclaw sitka top.

bear claw 2.jpg

This is a guitar built by Mark Hatcher with amazing Bearclaw, but on top of that, has this unique color as it came from a sitka log used as a float for logging camps in Alaska and the nails used to putting the decking on the float logs leached mineral into the sitka to cause this blue staining. Pretty unique.

You as well, my friend to the south.
Truly, I never knew how to "squander" time until I first put a guitar into my hands five years ago. Since then, I am getting so much better at it - the squander part, I mean.

Cheers,
David

Default A Newbie's First Post

After enjoying AGF for the past two years from the sidelines because I have an Apple "@me.com" email address, I finally got an Outlook email address so I could begin to join in and actively participate.

When I saw this thread earlier today I knew it was the right time to make my first post because I just bought this 2013 Bourgeois 0-Custom, only a week ago!

It's a stunning, pristine, and absolutely delightful instrument ... Bearclaw Italian Spruce/MRW.
