It does have a ripple look to it, even more so when it moves and the light changes angle.

Thanks John! The whiter inlay is Holly and the golden is curly Maple. The trick is to do the inlay on the overlays before they are glued to the guitar. That way you can get a jewelry saw in there. It is fine work though and took me about 3 weeks. If I were to do it again it would take about 3 weeks .

You asked at a good time, I just took some close ups:

Thanks for all the comments!

That is exceptionally nice aesthetics! Even for a cutaway.

I’m TrueType impressed by that inlay work, and the rest of the guitar as well

I like the visual simplicity of the Ebony bindings and the visual (but not technical!) simplicity of the Holly and Maple inlays because they don't compete with the busyness of that flamed Redwood and tortoise shell-veined Honduran Mahogany.

Thanks Erithon. I wanted to add highlights to the overall look and very thin flourishes seem to roll well with all that wood figure.

Default The Weekend

I do try to take weekends out of the shop but that doesn't mean we can't nail down which tuners we're going to use:

The custom Macassar buttons were an easy choice. Then it was between Gold, Black or Dark Metallic. We landed on Dark Metallic:

Then it was a choice between The Gotoh mini 510 or the open Schertler:

And the open Schedulers take the day!
