Default I Can't Have It...

I want so dearly but no, I can't have it. Period.

What a beautiful Martin this is. The 2nd picture blows me away.

Wow, I like it. .I'm not a huge fan, usually, of their whiskey burst type guitars, but this one, I do like. Also like the back on this one.. smooth looking, you can almost hear the tone this one would put out.. good price too..

Just do it! where there's a will, there's a way.. not to be an enabler or anything

Glad to see I'm not the only one who tortures themselves on Reverb when they know they're not in a place to buy at that exact time.. Heh. At least that's what it appears to be.

Best regards.. cheers

Actually, I'm not sure that's such a great price. (Unless my math is way off, which is always a possibility). You might want to consider what one of the forum sponsors could do for you with the price on a new one. I own a 000-17 Black Smoke, which is the same guitar, I believe. It's a lot of fun to play and an, I think, excellent choice at that price point. Good luck.

This. It's the most frustrating thing in the world when I'm selling and get lowballed, but do I love doing it to everyone else.

What he said. It's amazing what a phone call will do. I priced one from Maury's last week. 'Nuff said.

I've never been overly impressed with Martin's shade tops, and this one is no exception. Once in a while I'll see one that stands out from the rest, but overall they're 2nd tier compared to a few other brands. And I'm a Martin guy.

I felt the same way about shade tops until Martin started doing the Ambertone's. I can't get enough of those!

Same here. I have a D-18 Ambertone that I bought off Craigslist. The only reason I went to see it at all was the gorgeous Ambertone top, but once I got there it was a terrific guitar in every respect, so I ended up buying it.

Here's the photo that the OP was taken with:

Here's a D-18 Ambertone similar to mine:

It’s a world just FULL of temptation out there, 3notes, and - sad to sad - I ain’t your daddy and can’t shield you from it.

Try to soldier on, regardless....

After a rudimentary check, my pricing off the top of my head was definitely a bit off. I'd definitely try to get them to come down or see what Maury can do.

( and LOL at "I do love doing it to everyone else, though". excellent. )
