The thing I adore most about kinds under that age where they learn to lie to protect the feelings of others is... just that, that honesty that comes across so genuine. On the other hand, I don't want to hear honesty about everything, especially someone telling me I have enough guitars <grin>.

We had no idea what the average street price of the guitar was so when we got home I went and looked. She scored it for $250 less than the big box stores were selling it for.
As long as it's not too over-the-top price-wise my guitar-playing wife is also pretty good when it comes to my GAS - she's landed me some great deals over the years, done a few of her own, and after a recent band shopping trip (the other two members both scored new instruments - a GS Mini-e Koa and an Ibanez SR400 bass - for which she negotiated price) she's become not only our rhythm guitarist but haggler-in-chief . My compliments to your better half on her taste in guitars, BTW - mine doesn't like archtops in any form...

Thanks for comments.
I could have said why she wants more toys when she has her room full of dolls and toys plus few hundred more in the basement.
I can't even walk in the basement without stepping on them.

We were watching this video together and she said "Sorry daddy, I won't say that to you again. Can you play guitar please?".
So somehow she felt it's not good thing to say.
More understanding from 4 years old than 40 years old.

But I said, "No need to to say sorry, you are too cute".
Sad thing is she'll grow too quick and lose this innocent behavior. c'est la vie
