I would spend a week in a high end guitar shop playing a lot of guitars before picking one.
But, off the top of my head......maybe a Dammann..... |

I think I'd have Alejandro Cervantes build me something very special....maybe a Rodriguez in Engelmann and Coco with a couple ports (bass side upper and lower bout). 52mm nut - 60mm saddle and 650 scale.

A Kirk Sand John Knowles signature model guitar
Only $12,000 http://www.sandguitars.com/prod_sig_johnknowles.htm On a more realistic realm, I'm gassing for a Kenny Hill Player series guitar. Specifically, a 640 or 650 scale, 2 inch width at the nut, cedar top, cutaway body with a really nice undersaddle pickup system.. Now all I need is the $$

From what I've played, I'd easily narrow my choice between Jeff Elliott and Robert Ruck. I'd probably opt for an instrument that already existed, rather than a new custom one (to mitigate risk, just a personal preference).

I would want the Tony Johnson guitar that I got to play and hear played in
a tremendous concert in 1998. It was just a remarkable guitar. |

SRV's #1 Strat. Acoustic wise, only guitar I still want is a MDRCJC Goodall.

Part of this is as practical as thinking I might have such money drop into my lap. At my age, it assumes an interval of playing life that may not be in the cards.
I would start an efficient search for a luthier to work with me on a custom build. In an ideal world this would take much time, in my semi-realistic "money is no matter" scenario, I complete this search in months, not years. I would work with the luthier on what I'd have them build. I have my suspicions on what I'd want to play. OO or so size, deeper body, possibly cedar top, possibly a non-braced, arched back, wood uncertain. 1.8 inch nut, asymmetrical neck profile, higher frets and probably a fan-fret scale length. In summary, if money was no matter I'd go with a very unconventional guitar.

I have what I want in terms of steel string guitars, but I am open to spending as much as I want on a classical guitar. I have not had the opportunity to try many high end classical guitars and find one that I want to own, and the few of relatively expensive handmade classical guitars that I have played did not, in my estimate, out perform my lowly Cordoba C9. This is why it is unlikely I would ever have someone build a classical guitar. There is no way to know if I would like the results.
