JamieJoon recorded a song with his brand new JB-15 (Myrtle/Adi) and I am going to attempt to load a link onto my page:

When It Don't Come Easy

Nicely done, Jamie--sounds like you and this myrtle guitar have started a beautiful friendship. Congrats!

A Ringo Starr tune on a Sexauer? This I’ve got to hear. Wow Jamie, that was beautiful. Very nice playing also. When I hear people say a guitar is “piano like” this is the standard I’ll go to from now on.

Thanks guys. Recorded on my i-phone. The guitar sounds better in real life. The song is by Patty Griffin, "When It Don't Come Easy".

Short update on Lotus #3, my new JB-15. It is really rapidly developing with play and a few more days. At this point, I think it may be the best Sexauer I have ever played, certainly right up there with Bob's myrtle guitar in my opinion. It appears that it is going to be truly exceptional. Thanks Bruce!

I closed the P/Adi L00 today, and will get on to the Rosewood binding right away.

The Pernambuco used on this guitar is about 5 degrees off quarter toward the center, and about 30 degrees off quarter toward the edge of the lower bout. Pretty spectacular for a tree that is said to rarely exceed 12" in diameter. This tree had to be at least 18" in diameter, a giant. I do have some P which is better quartered yet, the florescent red stuff I have shown at other times, but it is not nearly so pretty to my eye.

While I prefer quartered material generally speaking due to stability considerations, it appears more important in Pernambuco than on other woods I've used due to a marked tendency to crack if it is flat sawn.

The binding is on and leveled.

I was lucky enough to be able to purchase a Sexauer guitar recently. It's probably no surprise for anyone reading here that it's exceptional.

Here's a link to my NGD post:

Thanks Bruce for the incredible guitar!

I got the neck done over the week end, and will move into finish ASAP.

Pernambuco in BRW:

This is an American Red Spruce over Pernambuco L00 inspired Sexauer being made for Barry Shipp, a return customer. This instrument has a promising response when tapped, either side!
