Another Baranik - WOW! You are quickly becoming the Baranik go-to guy here on the forum, Phil! This one is amazing looking - love that Coco set. Enjoy!

Thanks John - but I'm far from the Baranik go-to guy!! There are lots of you out there with Mike's guitars who have had them longer - and most certainly play them better - than I! I am fortunate in that I've been saving for a long time and had the opportunity to pick up the cocobolo guitar at the same time as the Wanderer mahogany was being built - just coincidence of timing! And I did see the prototype of the Meridian when I visited Mike's shop in 2008. So the stars are aligned at the moment.

I am certainly going to enjoy both of these this year and look forward to (a goal, far from assured!) moving ahead with my playing with these to encourage me.

I picked up a Zoom H4n last month, so when I have the coco in hand I'll be trying some A/B and recording it with the coco and the braz CX. When I pick up the mahogany in late Feb / early March, I'll have that to add to the A/B.

Cheers all,

Phil

Phil,
What can I say? Love that guitar! Love the Colorado Blue Spruce!

I am really glad I got a chance to play it at the shop. I am looking forward to hearing the Highlander in it. Perhaps when you get out this way, we can crank it up through my Fishman SoloAmp.

Thanks for the post,
LC

That'd be great! I'd love to hear it through the SA. Jenn just sold one that I was really tempted to buy, but I really didn't have a good reason to pick it up. The Rivera Sedona Lite really shines with ES or Highlander or mic'd, and I just picked up the teeny Behringer (11 lbs!) which sound fine. I have been impressed with what has been said about the SA, so I'll look forward to that.

Thanks!

Phil

If y'all get together, let me know! I'll bring along my CX, and if it's mid-late summer, the Meridian. Fun!

That cocobolo is stunning - reminds me of fine ebony. And I love the tasteful heelcap. Very nice.

Hey KK! Thanks! You can be sure we'll do it. I see you got your BTO - we'll have to do some close inspection on that one as well!

More pictures coming soon!

Thanks JR - I agree on both. The cocobolo is unusual and very nice, and the 'lava' heelcap adds just the right 'zing'!

Default Holding my breath...

Which is really good because:

Thursday: Freezing rain and sleet. Temperature falling to around 26 by 5pm. Northeast wind around 22 mph, with gusts as high as 30 mph. Chance of precipitation is 100%. New ice accumulation of 0.3 to 0.5 of an inch possible. New sleet accumulation of less than one inch possible.

Thursday Night: Snow and areas of blowing snow before midnight, then snow likely after midnight. Low around 20. North northeast wind between 15 and 21 mph, with gusts as high as 29 mph. Chance of precipitation is 80%.

Just in time delivery!!
