Default Question about the new 2018 X7 neck profile

Hi,

I am interested in the new released 2018 x7.

One question I have is with regarding its neck profile.

I read from the existing posts that previous generation of X7 has a relatively full neck.

Since my hand is small, I am wondering if the new X7 neck is any different - hopefully thinner.

I like the martin modified low oval neck if that helps.

Thanks
Chong

i'm not sure about the new X7 neck, but I seem to recall reading (or perhaps hearing Alistair mention on the video from the event that marked the release of the new X7 & the new X10) that the neck of the new X10 is thinner.

The good news is that Alistair will make a neck to ANY (reasonable, possible) specs that you ask.

Alistair made me a new Cocobolo X10 nylon string guitar with the very thin (19 mm) neck that I requested and it plays like a dream and sounds like magic!

Thanks for info.

I was hoping I can save some money since custom neck is not cheap.

If the stock X7 neck is comparable to martin modified low oval neck, that would work for me.

If anyone who has bought the new 2018 X7 can comment on the neck and the sound, it would be greatly appreciated.

I'm not familiar with that particular Martin neck profile so I can't compare. The X7 neck is definitely thinner than my HD28 neck though. My hands aren't big either and I find the X7 neck profile very comfortable.
As far as the sound goes, it's a bit darker sounding than a Taylor (then again, what isn't? ) and has a good amount of bass that isn't muddy. I sometimes strum very aggressively and I'm loving the amount of headroom this guitar has. You can really attack it and it still sounds great.

Is any chance you can post a sound clip for your new X7?
I searched youtube but didn't find any sound clip for the new x7.

I won't be able to do it for a week as I'm heading out of the country shortly. Sorry.
