Default New Amp Day

About a week ago I was off to pick up a Fender SUper Champ X2 for a home recording amp as well as a small gig amp. Over a cup of hot coco I saw a Craigslist posting for the Bogner Alchemist 1x12, at almost the same price as the Champ. The Ad said they had gotten it new 5 years ago and it has been in storage ever since (this was a concern at first).

I have heard of Bogner’s boutique tube amps but did not know much about their production line. So off to check it out. Wow.

It is an incredibly versatile amp.At first it was a bit dark but With just a few tweaks I was able to get that classic Fender clean sound. With The overdrive Channel it was easy to dial in the vintage Marshal and /or vox crunch. And the low wattage switch lets you choose half power (40 to 20) for home studio recording.

The only down side it is a bit heavier and bigger then I wanted, but all is good

It great to be in the right place at the right tim

6L6 class-A/B power section, 5 - 12AX7 preamp tubes and a Celestion V30 speaker.

Love the smell of coffee but can't stand the taste. Love a cup of hot coco and the morning read, no matter what time of year

Congrats on the Bogner! Will you play it more than the Fender Super Champ X2?
