New Amp
Just picked up a new amp. I took a chance on the Coolmusic BP80 battery powered amp to use a couple times a year for small outdoor events. So far so good. I wasn’t expecting much out of it given the price, but it sounds pretty good. Build quality feels solid, and battery life is has lasted several days now (about 3 hours of use) and still going strong. Vocals are clear and guitar sounds relatively decent. The dials have a nice tactile feel when moving past the centre position. If I’m being honest I don’t think it sounds quite as clear as my Fishman Loudbox Mini but for the price, can’t ask for much more.
I emailed Coolmusic to ask about replacing the battery in the event that it fails, and sounds like it can be done with a standardized replacement. I couldn’t find anything about these amps when I was trying to decide weather or not to get it, so thought I’d post this here in case anyone else is on the fence. Anyone have any thoughts/experience with these? Looking forward to hearing your thoughts. Last edited by foleyone; 02-20-2022 at 09:39 AM. |

Looks like a Nice Portable Package--Enjoy! The cool color kind of reminds me of Orange Amps. Here's the CoolMusic website information: https://www.coolmusic-tech.com/shows/12/8.html

Just saw these for the first time today. The BP60 seems like the perfect small busking amp for 2 mics and 2 guitars!

That’s what I had intended to use it for. An amp I could pick up and go out with and not worry about any it getting banged up. For the price, I think it offers good value and decent sound. Sure there are more expensive, better sounding battery amps (Bose, Jbl), but this thing is 1/5th of the price of those. |

Let us know how it works out. I've been looking at those for a while.

It’s know it’s been a while, but thought I’d update this in case anyone else is interested in these amps, which still seem to be available. I actually ended up sending the amp back. Not because of any problems, but I decided to spend quite a bit more to get the JBL Eon One Compact. The amp sounded decent and I could have been happy using it for the occasional busking outing. One nice thing, given the low cost would be not worry too much about it getting beat up. In comparing it to the JBL, Fishman Loudbox Mini and Fender Acoustasonic 40, I think it sounded a bit boxy, almost muffled. There was something about the sound quality that just wasn’t quite on the same level as the Fishman. No where near as nice as the Loudbox Mini in terms of clarity and natural sound, but again, considering the price I could been satisfied with it. It was loud, which also would have been good for busking. To summarize, it was a versatile and decent amp. If you have a budget to work within it may be a good fit. If you can stretch your budget a bit, there are a lot of alternatives out there that you’ll likely be happier with. |

Back before Cool Music I bought a Mugig BM25 $75 new Still have it, in fact I'm using it with a Zoom G1-Four For my Electric guitar it's also plugged into my mixer for vocals/Acoustic..So basically its my practice amp until I finally buy another which I'm searching for..
I think CoolMusic and Mugig are built by the same company The Bluetooth works great Would I gig it..Yes and no it's only 25watts but I have used it as a monitor in my Solo Act... I wouldn't use it as my main amp Never had a problem with the battery and this is 4 years old but then it does sit for months until I need it.. |

I have a CoolMusic BP40D that I use primarily with my Digitech Trio pedal that plays drum and bass loops. I also use the Bluetooth feature and play songs with the JamZone app on my Google tablet. I occasionally plug in an acoustic guitar but prefer playing unplugged. Last month I took the amp to a Jam session and it was used for vocals. Everyone seemed to like it.
