NGD Second Orpheum
A 12 fret Orpheum dread is on its way to be a companion for my OOO 12 fret I got in the spring. After 60 years of playing, these are my first 12 fret steel string guitars. Because I've played a lot of classical music over the last 45 years, I am used to the "limits" of 12 frets. With any luck it will be in my hands by this Saturday! Of course, to make room I am selling my F40 (see bump in For Sale section https://www.acousticguitarforum.com/...91#post6558591 )

Great guitars. Wish I still had mine. It had the most lovely mahogany back and sides I have ever seen on a guitar.
Alas, the neck, at 1.8", was just a tad too wide for me. But the tone of that thing still haunts me.

I'm a big fan of Guild guitars, and would love to play an Orpheum. But you just don't see them around here. I'd have to buy one just to get to play one.
Hmmm.

Congrats! I love mine. IMO, these guitars excel at any type of playing, which is a rare thing. Does yours have mahogany B&S?

I've heard nothing but great things about the Guild Orpheum! I even saw a forum member post that he had an Orpheum 12 string... would give my left arm for one of those! Although that may limit my playing....
Enjoy yours!

Congrats. I would love to get a chance to kick the tires of an Orpheum. I thought about going with an Orpheum or a Gibson Stage Deluxe to join my 12 fret L1 but ended up settling in with a Fairbanks Smeck.

Congratulations. Only thing better than one Orpheum are two or more of them.

Its funny, the only place I ever saw an Orpheum was the last place I would have expected, in Guitar Center (Manchester, CT store).
It did not last there long. |

That's a beauty. Looks like the previous owner kept it well protected....
