My wife and daughter have told me they only wish to hold on to two of my guitars. Both the 64 D21 and the Larrivee C-10 will remain with them. The others will end up on Ebay or a similar site.

The only plan I will make for my 15 guitars, a banjitar, amps, PA and a lap slide is to write down the specs, condition, date and any incidentals an add would need.

If my 2 kids want to keep some that's fine. Guitars are up for music or barter.

No herd, just one horse and a few donkeys. I have a decent Martin, the rest are cheap imports that should be given away to kids or beginners who need an instrument.

The Martin was a gift from my wife so it has sentimental value. Our kids don’t play and the only grandchild so far is still a baby, but I’m breaking her in already. I’d like someone in the family to get that one.

With 50 guitars at any given time I have 3 friends in mind that might inherit my stable.

Yes, I'll be handing down the herd. Aside from the guitars I have a very nice flute, 6 trumpets and a trombone. All 4 of the grandchildren are musical (two have music teacher parents). No trumpet players yet, so it's likely they will be sold.

I have my father's Gibson tenor banjo that's about 100 years old now. It was my first stringed instrument when I was young, but I have not played it in a long time. But I love that I have it.

I've been thinking on that as the not-so-magic #70 approaches in a few months. I really ought to create a casual will-type list of what to do with all my instruments, so that if I croak there will be one less source of grief for my BSU/RFL (Beloved Spousal Unit / Reason For Living).

Some could be entrusted to a friend to sell for her, others I would designate to my son and a few old friends. Eeek.
