Comcast, a true love/hate relationship.
We go with their equipment.
My experience over the last 20 years is store bought units last 1-2 years.
And always fail at the worst possible time.
Cost savings is very small.

Decent SOHO network gear doesn't usually fail that fast. Having to support so many with work from home we've found some of what was perceived as a failure was just a mis-configured device, compromised devices, and the owners ignoring or unaware of software updates.

Some cases of your ISP's gear in a bridge mode (not your brouter/firewall) also get you improved privacy and security.

Uninterruptible power supplies don't cost much these days and can protect you purchases and keep your services running during some power outages. I suggest your ISPs terminal device and your gear be on one of those. If you get a brand like APC and Trip-Lite you can replace the batteries when they fail and get many years of use.
