Default FS: Hanika Basis Cut Classical Cutaway 640mm short scale (video clip avail)

Hi all, I got this as part of a trade assuming before hand I’d need to sell it, but it’s been tough to let go of!

I’d been interested in a Hanika for a while before getting this one, they’re made in Germany and not hugely available here.

Specs:
-640mm short scale
-50mm nut
-Solid spruce top
-Solid rosewood back and sides
-Florentine cutaway
-Rubner tuners with Teflon inserts
-Open pore matte finish
-Saddle is designed to tilt back slightly toward the tail

Other than its very light weight, one of the things I noticed when first picking it up was the Teflon inserts in the tuner roller holes; not something you see too commonly, and provides a smooth tuning experience. The matte open pore finish has a nice look and feel to it, and must also contribute to its resonant tone.

Neck specs are also very nice, with a shorter 640mm scale and 50mm nut, with a flat fret board. I think it identifies more as a classical with a cutaway than as a crossover.

Beautiful rosette to top it all off. I’m really amazed by what Hanika produced, especially at this price point. Thoughtful design that culminates in lightweight instrument that is pleasing to hold, play, listen to, and look at.

In excellent shape with minimal wear, and with the original hard case.

Sold

Thanks for looking.

Small world department: I literally was in The Classical Guitar Store here in Philadelphia on Friday looking for a crossover, and Bill, the owner, recommended this model to me (they are back-ordered).

It’s a really nice guitar in my view too! Especially for the price range it can’t be beat. Thanks for the post.

Pardon me if I missed it, but I don't see any mention of condition or whether it comes with a case.

You didn’t miss it, it was my omission. The guitar is in excellent shape with minimal wear and also includes the original hard case. Thanks for saying something.

Beautiful guitar! There are some amazing guitars coming out of continental Europe (Lakewood, Furch etc) these days. I’m sure this one sounds great. Good luck with the sale!

I purchased this guitar from DLQ and received it today. Very smooth purchase.

The Hanika guitar punches way above it's weight for the money. My other CG's were 4X the cost of this one but they do not sound 4X better by any stretch of the imagination. If anyone is looking for a reasonably priced, quality classical guitar, the Hanika should be in the mix.
