Default 2018 Stephen Kinnaird Sitka/Tiger Stripe Oregon Myrtle SJ

We have recently finished this fabulous instrument for the La Conner Guitar Festival and are now pleased to offer it here. It is our big SJ model with a premium Sitka Spruce top and a one of a kind curly, tiger-striped Oregon Myrtle back and sides! It is a cannon that has a great profound bass with plenty of upper end sparkle. Combined with the soundport, you will have no problem coaxing all the sound you would ever want out of this guitar. Perfect for performing or just enjoying at home, you will love the sound of this special SJ.

The Oregon Myrtle on the back and sides are truly unique. The sawyer who processed this wood said that of over 30 years of cutting Oregon Myrtle this was the only log that had ever had this extreme figure. When we contacted him about the set, he said there was no more. In fact, you can see on the peghead that the figure runs out and there's only blank Myrtle after that. A one of a kind piece that won't be seen again!

We're offering this just completed build (with a $xxxx price point) for an AGF exclusive price of SOLD (shipping included CONUS)! We know that you will love this guitar.

Sitka Spruce top - Oregon Myrtle (Tiger Stripe Figure) Back and Sides
Green Abalone Rosette - E. Indian Rosewood Bindings - Oregon Myrtle Peghead
Ebony Fretboard - Brazilian Rosewood Bridge - Mystic Martin Inlay
5 piece neck (Mahogany/EIR/Myrtle)
1 3/4" nut - 2 1/4" saddle spacing - 25.4" scale length
Soundport - Schertler Tuners - Arm Bevel
Ameritage Case - Limited Lifetime Warranty

I will try to get a video or audio clip made of this guitar soon. Until then, please watch this clip of another SJ being performed by Steve DeVries to get a sense of the sound you can expect.

Thanks everyone!

Hi, Steve & Ryan!
Wow, that Myrtle is wild! Reminds me of some kind of wild jungle cat. It looks dangerously sexy. And totally unique.
And when you said "profound bass", I know exactly what you mean. That big, fat, round bass, that still stays in focus and never gets woofy. Clarity and definition, right! Beautiful guitar, guys! You'll have a quick sale. Wish I was the buyer! Keep doing what you do, and maybe someday...
Cheers, -Steve

Thanks Steve. Miss seeing you around here, but I’m sure you’re staying busy. You got to love a fat bass!

It sure is. But it’s made to be played. A treat not just for the eyes.

We hear you sakar12. Whenever you want one, we don’t charge extra for lefties. Our first guitar was a lefty so they have a special place in our hearts, and while we build them occasionally, we wish we had the opportunity to do more.

I showed it to my wife and she was just amazed by it. She now knows a new guitar maker’s name. Now I just have to slowly play it over and over while she sleeps.

Sending good thoughts her way. It’s amazing how much love we get from wives actually. I think it has something to do with how happy their husbands are which puts everyone in a good mood. Think of the mental health benefits! Of course listening to Steve DeVries play makes everyone happy. If it doesn’t convince you to buy our guitar, it should convince you to buy a CD of his.

Thanks man. Let it work on you. There’s no disappointment for you here.

On a side note, on a different thread I saw a video I believe you did with your wife. It was very nice and she sang well. Good stuff.

Oh, I wish I could buy that. If I had $8k for a guitar right now, this is the one I would buy. It's simply stunning. I have a ways to go before I can save up for such another large purchase.

Thanks man. I appreciate that. It was a cover of an Alison Krauss song. I do love her stuff. And I agree it would sound better with a Tiger Myrtle guitar.

One of the most stunning guitars I've seen.

Someday I'm going to comission a cedar top from you all.
