Adoption is a good choice. I've done it before, and I might have done it again. The Spitz breeds I prefer are scarce. I monitored several breed-specific nationwide adoption sites for months and watched the few available dogs snapped up within hours. Anyhow, a puppy in a shelter is very likely to come from a puppy mill itself, or have serious health or behavior problems.

But let's not get sidetracked by pet politics here, shan't we?

Default Gabriel

Here’s Gabe. While he came prior to the shut down, he’s still a puppy.

Default They're smart...

I considered a Border Collie, but I can't afford another round of college tuition.

I remember you posting about Gabe a while back when he was just a little guy. He’s adorable!

There’s the boy! As you recall I got Bruno when you got Gabe. Well, I’m getting Bruno’s 3 year old half-sister in June. Nothing like a dog for us dog lovers. Here’s Bruno.

He’s a handsome guy! I bought the Monks’ book after seeing your post, Paul.

I haven't been playing guitar since we got the puppy. I guess raising a puppy was taking my spare energy, and I wanted to keep my guitars away from curious teeth.

A couple of days ago I took out my acoustic and started playing gently. The puppy fled and barked in the low alert voice. %#/&%! Yesterday was almost the same. Today also started with worried barks but then the puppy came closer, looking curious and (I'd like to think) fascinated.
