Default Guitars in stock - December 2017

Sponsors (luthiers/builders/manufacturers), what guitars do you currently have in stock for sale or available from a dealer?

(Note: Sponsors only, please. I'll unstick this thread every month and start a new one to keep things fresh.)

Default Michaud Made J-R Sitka/Malaysian Blackwood

Hey guys! Up for sale is this Michaud Made J-R Sitka Spruce/Malaysian Blackwood. It is truly a wonderful guitar and if I didn't have a business to run, I would be keeping it Joel's list is currently still closed with a waiting time of over 2 years and a base price of $7,500 so this is a rare opportunity to skip the queue and get a brand new Michaud!

This jumbo has the signature Michaud sound which is modern, full of clarity and balance. A jumbo generally tends to be boomy and muddy with the bass out-shadowing the trebles but Joel has managed to build an extremely balanced jumbo out of this; a thunderous bass and equally fat trebles, not to mention a huge sound.

Despite its larger lower bout, the guitar is deceptively comfortable to hold due to the Manzer Wedge. The neck carve is also very easy on the hands. Overall, this is actually one of the more comfortable guitars I've had the privilege of playing, not to mention one of the best sounding ones!

Before I continue to ramble on and lose your attention, here are some photos:

And of course, here is a video of the guitar in action. It was my first time recording/filming alone and I clearly have much room for improvement but I hope you guys enjoy it!

Specs:
Top: Sitka Spruce
Back/Sides: Malaysian Blackwood
Upper bout width: 11.6"
Lower bout width: 16.3"
Lower bout depth: 4.5 - 5.0" (Manzer Wedge)
Scale length: 25.5"
Body length: 20.3"
Nut width: 1 3/4"
Saddle width: 2 1/4"
Rosette: Malaysian Blackwood
Fretboard: Malaysian Blackwood
Binding: Malaysian Blackwood
Purfling: Maple/Ebony
Bridge, Pinless: African Blackwood

List Price: $8,000

Do feel free to drop me a PM or e-mail if you are interested in this beauty, or if you are thinking of commissioning your very own Michaud! It's Christmas season after all, you might just catch me in a generous mood

Beautiful guitar, Marcus!

Really enjoyed the video, especially the percussive effect you get with your thumb.

GLWTS!

Default Matsuda M1 Italian/Moena

We are fortunate to have such a rare gem by Michihiro Matsuda up for sale. Matsuda guitars seldom ever show up in the market so this is a great opportunity to get your hands on one!

The Matsuda M1 is an OM sized instrument with a 15.5" lower bout. This particular guitar comes with an Italian Spruce top with Moena Amarillo back and sides. Moena has a density similar to Mahogany and is a very responsive tonewood that produces a strong midrange.

The Sunburst finish on the back of this guitar really brings out the shimmering gold of the wood and the unorthodox but elegant Sunburst on the top makes for a very unique instrument to own.
If you are interested in this piece, want to order something like this, please feel free to hit us up!

Top: Italian Spruce
Back/Sides: Moena Amarillo
Upper Bout Width:
Lower Bout Width: 15.5"
Scale Length: 25.4"
Body Length: 19.0"
Nut Width: 1.75"
Saddle Width: 2.25"

This guitar comes with a custom fit TKL case and a Hoffee case is available at a $800 up charge.

Price: $17,750

I'll build this for 25% off for the first person to commit before midnight mountain time. Kind of a New Years, I really want to build this guitar special.

Just imagine these two guitar merging into one!

I love all Mahogany guitars, but they are a tough sell through dealers. However I'm so keen to build a mahogany topped guitar in my new shape that I'm offering to build this one for 25% off my standard price. Regular price $8000 CND or $6360 USD. 25% off makes it $6000 CND or $4770 USD. This is the most affordable new Dion you'll find!

Default Pono Guitar February 2018 Inventory

A sincere thanks to all who write in with positive and constructive input on Pono Guitars. We realize it has not been easy to view an online catalog. There have been a few attempts to correct that, but still no success. One AGF member kindly offered to reconstruct our website, but then he experienced health issues and had to discontinue the project.

I have to admit that lack of time, and maybe more precise, laziness on my part has prevented a revised website.

But you can still call or email, and we will reply with all of the information on current inventory stock, and info on custom ordering.

We are now providing a 50% discount on any guitar that is currently in stock (so our offer at these prices allows no room for either advertising, or additional discounts).

Note: all Pono Guitars are made of solid woods (no laminates), a few have rosewood parts, but now with new CITES regulations, all fingerboards and bridges are ebony, nuts and saddles are bone, and tuners are Grover 97 vintage style open gear.
All guitars include a hardshell case.
Shipping: UPS 2 day, US Domestic is $60, and international is DHL $150.
