Interestingly, Tony Polecastro just reviewed his top 10 picks for today's Acoustic Tuesday video: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qKF7Pj5gB3U

I get the best tone playing bluegrass from large tri-Casein picks by Charmed Life Picks 1.0-1.15 . Nothing else I've played comes close.

Lately I use mediums on electric but find those Primetones 1.5 mm and the Dunlop Jazztones XL great for acoustic

That was an interesting watch. I try an listen again later with a good set of headphones.

Just to confirm, yes, a Fender Medium is .73 mm. I've put a digital caliper on them more times than I care to remember.

IMO, the clue is in “model maker.” Models are made of resin, such as urethane resin. I used to use a resin that was clear when you cast it and white when it hardened. Google tells me Alumilite is one example. No idea how Alumilite handles, but the stuff I used was pretty much like Wegen’s picks. It had the same feel, sound, machinability, and abrasion resistance.

Unfortunately, I used that resin over 30 years ago and I can’t remember the brand.
