Default Peterson Stroboclip HD tuner

After reading the James Taylor thread and watching the video on sweetened tunings, I brought the Peterson strobe. It takes a bit to get used to it's sensitivity but it sure made a difference in my cowboy chords. It has something like 50 preset sweeteners along with capo offsets and key changes. I like it.

wait,, it tunes coffee mugs too,, Wow these guys think of everything!!

HA!

I do like mine

a word to the wise. Keep an eye on the M2 Screw/and hex nut that holds the swivel arm to the base. Mine got lose and the nut disappeared

I contacted Peterson and they shipped out a repalcment crew and hex nut pretty quickly

had to put a tooth pick in there in the mean while.

but yea,, GREAT clip on, the best of the 3 or 4 I have hands down.

Very accurate and some handy temperaments to use for different tunings and such too boot.

They are great tuners and their customer service rocks too! I somehow lost the pad to the clip on mine and they gladly replaced it no questions asked, and that was after I had it for years. Highly recommended.

Just put fresh batteries in mine today, I can see it again. These are the best of the clip ons that I've tried, and I've tried most. And yes, they do take a bit to get used to using, but once you do, the snarks of the world feel like toys.

Yep. It’s only when I got my Petersen Strobe tuner did I realize I’d been playing out of tune for 40 years! And, you can get the app for $9.99 so you’ll always have a tuner on you…

I have the same issue with the screw. My current high tech solution is a paperclip but I will contact them

The StroboClip is a great tuner from my viewpoint. I have the original one, not the HD, which has some improvements.

So before you do anything and if you haven't already sign up for an account there, they will have your full mailing address and other contact information.

And you can also register your tuner too on the site too.

From there just send them a message via "contact us" and tell them what's up

They will take it from there.

It all happened quite fast and it was very easy to work with their support team, excellent actually

I’ve had mine for a while and have never used the sweetened tunings. One thing it does take some getting used to because it strives for perfection.

Could not agree more. Two years ago, my new Peterson suffered an ignominious death by puppy teeth. Rusty thought it tasted like chicken. I posted a short in memorium for it here, which a sales guy at Peterson happened to read. Happy ending - they sent me a new one, gratis. Fortunately, Rusty has outgrown his pechant for tuners - "sweetened" or plain.

Sounds like i grabbed a pretty good tuner. I also took the advice and registered with Peterson. I'll use a bit of prevention and apply some nail polish on the screw threads to keep it from backing out.
