Luthier in NC/SC/VA for refinish work
Does anyone know of a luthier in the Carolinas or Virginia who does good refinish work? I’ve been asking around and it seems many of them in the area don’t really like to do this kind of work.

I would highly recommend Randy Hughes in Fairview (Asheville), North Carolina.
https://www.hughesguitarsandrepair.com/ Randy repaired a crack and sanded and finished my old Breedlove CM. You couldn’t even tell there was ever a problem. Really good work!

If you can connect with Jim Merrill, he is superbly talented. Look for him in Lancaster.

Todd Stock in Maryland does incredible work. I live in VA but drive all my guitars to him.

Mark Brumitt does guitar finishing/refinishing. He is in Richmond’s west end.
His website indicates that he is preparing to move his shop, but I don’t know how long ago that was posted. It wouldn’t hurt to reach out to see what he can do for you. http://www.brumittguitars.com/home.html |

Mountain Song Guitars near Asheville. I have never had them refinish a guitar, but I know they do that work. I can vouch for their work though. I have had them do re-frets, saddles, nuts and some other work and their work is exemplary.
