Many of the above are my favs to play, as well as...

1. Don’t Drink The Water
2. Bartender

I admit...I love playing all of his stuff. I was a big fan for many years and learned a lot of his songs. But, “Don’t Drink The Water” on the J-45 is a favorite.

I also really love to play through Alice In Chains MTV Unplugged set. Not a ton of drop D on there but most of those songs are tuned 1/2 step down.

Big fan of drop D, mostly Dylan tunes that I play, also like Can't Find My Way Home/Winwood.

"Woodstock" via CSN but obviously a Joni Mitchell song. Also a Stephen Stills song..."Love The One You're With". As was mentioned "4 & 20". Lots of great dropped D songs. Glad this thread was started....

A trick I learned from watching old Mance Lipscomb videos.
Playing in the key of A in dropped D works pretty well. Nice big bass sound on the four chord.

Yep...I've got a fingerstyle tune I use that for.

I just made a 68 song setlist. Here are the tunes I do in Drop D (or Double Drop D) from that list:

All My Loving
By the Time I Get to Phoenix
Cover Me Up
Domino
Everybody’s Talkin’
I Don’t Want to Set the World on Fire
I Took a Pill in Ibiza
Keep the Customer Satisfied
Mari-Mac
My Maria
Rock ‘n’ Roll Song
Southern Nights
Starman
Sugar, We’re Going Down
Take Your Mama Out
The Great Beyond
The Ride
The Suburbs
Three Pistols

I think this is pretty typical of most of my stuff, so I’d say I do about 30% in Drop D. Almost any song in G or D or A will sound good in Drop D.

I often make up my own arrangements, so I’d never claim that these songs were originally written or recorded in Drop D, but I think they all sound great when arranged to take advantage of this tuning. I probably play 100-150 tunes in Drop D.
