Actually I would send out the doubleneck for a week in exchange for a week with the X20. My only condition is that you don't use it for a cup holder. I had a shipping case made for it that is indistructable.

As a Canadian, I'm likely ineligible. If I were eligible, I'd gladly do a Cargo-Savoy try out exchange!

I keep my X20 at our Mexico place (where I am right now) or I'd be up for this. My Custom X20 is still on order, once it arrives in the States and the dew is off the rose, I'd love to try a double neck, or even just a 12 string. There is a lot of tone in Emeralds. They do lot's of stuff very, very well.

I'm in Australia, otherwise I'd be in to lend you my Cocobolo X20 in return for a Blackbird Super OM or a Macpherson Sable.

Ok, maybe Ted has helped me out here, without knowing it? Maybe there is another forum member with a X20 that wants to play a Doubleneck? I live in Ohio and am going on a "Road" trip to around Syracuse NY later this month and one to New Jersey in August?

Dealers are not guaranteed a sale, even if someone likes, and can afford the guitar, and the builders are not guaranteed of a positive review.

So, now that we've eliminated the idea of road trips for profit, I have another idea, one that would be fair to all involved. How about we do a guitar sharing of sorts. I will send this x20 out on the road and share it with others who are also willing to do the same with their guitars. Steve, since you brought it up, I would love to try your double neck, and would gladly pay $50 to bang it around for a week. Capy Jim can send his woody on the road, and Mike can do the same with his Savoy.

What say you all?
Not for me, thanks. I am without my lovely X20 while we are currently traveling (the X7 is happily along for the ride)... and I darn sure won't be "sending it away" when we get home. Hey, I was on your side, Ted, when the suggestion of you doing a road trip with the X20 came up. Doesn't make good business sense for someone to promote a brand that isn't available to them.

Now I am waiting for someone to suggest that you drive the X20 around the country, with the convenience of the additional cup-holder. While we're pondering the absurd, maybe you and Alistair doing a Thelma and Louise kinda trip?

Maybe not.

I suggest that those considering an X20 do what you and I did: buy one.

Hey, hey, HEY! I am only endorsing doing this with others' guitars. Let's leave my Savoy out of the conversation.

Please allow me to propose more of a win-win solution... Take the pilgrimage, as I do biannually, to 9028 Sunset Blvd in beautiful West Hollywood. There resides a friendly and wise shopkeep (with a very wise and lovely bride) that will allow you the time and quietude to try any number of carbon fiber, eKoa, and yes... even old school wood guitars.

Where in Ohio are you? I'm there too.

It's awesome that you're willing to send your doubleneck out, Steve, but with a one for one trade, shipping will end up costing us over $100 each, and I am not that curious about the double neck. If I were thinking of purchasing one than the cost would be worth it, so this could work with someone else who owns a recent x20.

So my take away is that Ted and Jim like their X20s too much to let them travel around the country unaccompanied. That's a pretty good endorsement.

FWIW, I feel the same. However I have an Ibanez F10 that I can put on a road show if you are interested. Also if I ever get another X20, I would be willing to put the one I have out on a road show.

Doubleneck,

You are welcome to play my X20 if you can stop in Binghamton (50 miles south of Syracuse). I will be leaving next week for my North Channel (Lake Huron) cruise and won't be back in town until he middle of August. I also have a Lucky 13 and a Blackbird Rider.
