Well, I spent the day and evening working with the Fender Mustang GTX 100 amp, and I must say that it's a very nice addition to my studio. Fender got it right. Nice tones, nice presets, very nice software, lots and lots of amps and effects that all sound great. As far as modeling amplifiers go, this has got to be one of the best, and easiest to use systems available that I've worked with. Years ago when they first came out there were lots of problems with them, but they have been all addressed and fixed. Every aspect of the GTX has been refined to work flawlessly with the user. There is a slight learning curve but it's a breeze to figure out and very intuitive. I'm running the Tone software on an IPad which is very easy for me to read, and hasn't had one glitch. Everything works as designed. The sounds are mostly very good, and accurate to what they are supposed to be. I'm very happy with the quality of the sounds of the presets, and they offer a wide selection of usable tones. I'm finding this amp to be very inspiring to create new song ideas very easily. The smooth workflow just adds to the joy of creating new music. All in all, I'd have to say this was a very good purchase and will be for a long long time.

I really like what Fender has done with their modelers.

I have one of the early versions of the mustang III I've had it for about 8 years now. Aside from the power switch needing to be replaced (DIY for like 3 bucks) it's been rock solid.

I have considered one of the newer GTX just for yucks...

I also have a marshall code 50, also a nice amp, but the edge to my ears goes to the Mustang III still.

Thanks, I've been wheeling and dealing for a long time to get it to this point, but it's everything I want now. No more trades or purchases are planned.

By necessity, I had to become a Fender Mustang II/III programmer. Those amps came with the available preset positions already loaded with Fender's creations. Those Fender-created presets are included primarily to showcase what the amp's capable of, but most of them sounded like something I'd never use (esp on the II - the III has a few nice modified cleans).

If the GTX is similar, then the Fender presets can be overwritten with your own (or those created by others), saved back over the original positions. You should be able to restore the factory presets per the process in the Manual.

Yes this is true plus you can download presets by other artists in the Tone Library community, plus you can upload your presets to share with others. I found a couple presets from Larkin Poe, how cool is that ??

If I had a dollar for every time I've seen this on the AGF (including me!)...well, I guess I'd buy some more gear! Congrats and enjoy. I liked the sample you posted. Have fun.
