The workmanship on these little details is really special!

John, you’re very kind, thank you. Yes, once the mouth opens extemporaneously, who knows how many things a guy can forget to say?! I also forgot to mention the arm bevel and the Manzer wedge. Pretty important ergonomic features, but I believe they are at least mentioned further up in the thread. Thanks again.

Congrats to all parties for this one. Beautiful Tree Mahogany and wonderful Kinnaird workmanship. This is a special build and I hope Russell enjoys it for years to come. As the lovely Kathy is want to say...let me write this down. Maybe a quick list of the features will keep you on track Steve. The turtle is really cool.

This beauty arrived in Hawai’i yesterday, and it’s awesome in every way! I’ll do an NGD on main page, once I stop playing it! Thanks Stephen and Ryan at Kinnaird guitars!

Excellent advice Tom, which no doubt I’ll completely forget the next time. You know how that goes. Thanks for the kind words!

We’re happy as sea turtles in the Hawaiian surf, Russell! Our only regret is that we didn’t get to deliver this personally.
(Maybe this one will be your penultimate guitar?)

This really was a wonderful build thread to follow. The guitar is so tastefully done and the execution is spot on. And it really has a beautiful voice. Great job, Steve and Ryan, and congrats to you, Russell!

I feel remiss, because I didn’t come across your comment until tonight, Steve!

But….if you put the J.Kinnaird guitar and the S. Kinnaird side by side in the ring, and engage in dueling dirks…please let me know! I’ll buy a plane ticket and a bottle of scotch to come and watch! OTOH, I suspect everyone would be hypnotized by the sight of both guitars. You two are Scottish-American arteests!😃😃

Keep up the dueling builds, laddies!

Ian

Thank you Kevin. We found that Russell had some really nice ideas. We just tried to implement them.

Steve and Ryan, congrats on another beautiful (and beautiful sounding) guitar. I haven't been lurking here much lately, so I missed the development. Bravo!

Wow, guys, what a spectacular guitar: appearance and tone are amazing! If this is your only shot at working with The Tree, you really made the most of it. Very, very nice. Dave

Thank you Jamie. This instrument was similar enough to your Osage SJ that we couldn’t help but make comparisons as we went along. With this one exception of course: no curawectomy needed to be performed on this Tree guitar. Whew!

Thank you Dave for your consistent kindness. And this probably was our only shot at working with The Tree. Now we’ll have to content ourselves with working This Tree, or That Tree, or as is usual, Some Tree. But Any Tree will work with a really good top!
