I don't see any reason to sunburst that top.

Jayson does one of the best bursts I’ve ever seen. Honestly, you’ll love whatever guitar shows up at your door……but again I say, Jayson does one of the best bursts I’ve ever seen ;-)

Another pic of the back. Jayson is going to start on the sunburst in the next couple of days. Going to leave the middle pretty transparent to let the character of the wood come through.

Not a great pic, but it's almost done. Should be shipping in a week or two.

That is a beautiful guitar! Like Tom Petty said, "The waiting is the hardest part..." but your wait is almost over! Congrats!

It is done, and should be shipping in the next few days.

Note from Jayson:

Subject Heading: "Tone for days..."
Body: "Strings are on, sounds like a Bowerman right out of the gate, but with this hard to pin down airiness that I associate with old guitars."

I gave him artistic license (more or less) on the axe inlay, and this is what he came up with:

I'm definitely getting excited.

Had it shipped to work... worked here for 6 years, but didn't realize they don't deliver directly to my office, but to a centralized distribution center. Here's hoping that the folks in the distribution center don't abuse it.

I like how the axe came out--it's a really nice touch!

I'm sure you'll be super happy--looking forward to your report.

Congrats and enjoy!

It's here, and it's gorgeous.

Only had a few minutes to play it and snap some quick pics in the office before I had to run off and teach.

Big responsive snappy tone definitely on the drier side.

More later...
