Currently living on Central Vancouver Isl. B.C, a block from the ocean, I'd stay right where I am !
Having lived for extended periods in Australia and USA (West Virginia) , I have a soft-spot for both those countries.
However, we've got plenty of water , a very mild climate, ski in the morning, play golf in the PM if so inclined, and a relatively small population.
No place is perfect though, we've all got our warts !

Go up to at least central Michigan. At least it's prettier up there, and the summers are more mild.

Default I live in Santa Barbara

. . . Center of town. 2 blocks from the beach.

Last week SB was just voted best weather in the USA on some annual survey.

Yet lately I wish I was in Maine. Been there many a summer where my mom and dad were raised.

I live in the USA, currently in the state of Massachusetts, having move here 3 years ago. Spent most of my life in California prior to moving.

Don't really want to move to another country....but if I/we had to, I think we would choose someplace in Europe. Italy has a romantic allure, as does France. Parts of Spain are lovely. The Netherlans have a lot to offer.

Canada is very appealing, except for climate.

I live in the Pacific Northwest in logging country, but less than an hour's drive from Olympic National Park. So it's a beautiful area in most places, and my house is situated in a lovely spot out in the country. My wife and I are very happy here.

If I had to move out of the USA I would move to Australia or perhaps New Zealand. But I don't imagine that ever happening. I would still like to visit Australia and New Zealand one of these days.

I'm retired and live on the Florida Space Coast, where I'm very happy. I have lived overseas in my younger days...the Philippines and Japan.

When younger I would have moved to Australia, which I've visited. But these days if i had to move it would probably be Belize. I don't do cold anymore.

I live in the Annapolis, MD area and I given my choice I would move to the south coast of Spain. Specifically, somewhere near Malaga.

I've been to both, My wife would agree on Maine and I would agree on Sanibel. I'll miss her.

I'm pretty sure which issue you are talking about. We loved living in Alaska, but as one gets older that is a tough climate to deal with. It is also a very expensive place to retire and age. So we moved back to America (an Alaskan phrase) to run out our careers in Idaho. I don't really seeing us going anywhere else after retirement. If we did it might be Canada which I like, or Ireland which I have always wanted to visit. It would not be some place really hot.

I live in the US and had to move to another country, and I had no family obligations so proximity to the US is an issue, I'd move somewhere tropical. I think I'd be perfectly fine if I never saw another snowflake again in my life. Somewhere where there aren't a lot of people, lots of beaches with no hurricanes, living is cheap and safe, and where the drinks are cold.
