My middle daughter's family just left to head back to Massachusetts after visiting with us for 2 1/2 weeks out here in Washington State. My son-in-law and my two grandsons are also huge Red Sox fans. My son-in-law was watching Red Sox games on his computer through our Wi-Fi system in the house. It was fun being part of their enthusiasm.

The Sox are a very fun team to be following this year. They just won game number 81. Just 35 more to tie the Mariners' record.

They don seem to be developing some kinks in the bullpen. That might put the brakes on a little.

Yup, they're guaranteed at least a 0.500 season.

Go Red Sox! I hope they're not in contention for 116 during the final few games. I'd rather the team focus on the playoffs rather than pulling out all the stops for 116. Don't want a repeat of what happened to Golden State Warriors a couple years ago.

Betts and Martinez are making an awesome pair.

And the Orioles are already 50 games out for all intents and purposes. They're going to flirt with finishing the most games out ever.

And the Red Sox are 50 games over .500. Amazing. Here's to keeping the team healthy.

How about the Cubs' rooking hitting a pinch hit grand slam in the bottom of the ninth to win it.

Bote's a fun player to watch...really came through in the clutch yesterday...

We'll be seeing those Nationals in October...

Hopefully it'll be talk about the ball team and not Harper's next contact and where he'll be. Given the season he's having I hope the talk of $400 M is gone.

To fully understand how good the Red Sox are this year, consider this:

The Yankees, at 74 wins and 44 losses for a percentage of .627 are better than any other team in baseball by a game and a half.

The Sox are 10 games ahead of the Yankees.

Yeah... I'm a huge Sox fan as I've stated in this thread. But, I remember how much better the 116 win Mariners were as well and they didn't even make it to the World Series.

I don't want to be overly optimistic.

Awwww, you're no fun!

While I understand the idea of cautious optimism. If you can't enjoy a ride like this one, well, I just don't know.

It may end in a crash, but if it does, you still had the ride!

Another win for the Sox. This time, Porcello pitched a whale, and Holt hit a pinch hit homer for the go ahead in the 8th.

I’ve decided to enjoy this season and forget about ‘78. Really.
