I love my Larrivee OM40R. I love it so much when I sold one several years ago it haunted me and so I bought another one and don't regret it. Incredible value and bang for the buck and build quality and tone. Unless there are certain specs that you're looking for such as nut width or neck profile or ergonomics I cannot think of a single reason not to buy a good Larrivee. This would be true of a guitar actually to make sure it fits your playing style and needs. Don't be afraid to spring for a good used one.

The only reason I can think of is they are hard to find.

Just played my Larrivee 000-40 for almost an hour..

Everything from fingah style ("Both Sides Now" - Joni Mitchell) to fingah pickin' ("Carolina In My Mind" - JT to "Fields of Gold" - Sting) to flat pickin' ("The Tennessee Stud" - Doc Watson to "Here Comes the Sun" - George Harrison) .... to waltz-ee Country strummin' ("I'm So Lonesome I Could Cry" - Hank Williams)....

..and this thread crossed my mind.... Let me tell ya - it's a tone for all seasons - There is NO reason ... NOT to buy one.

I own 2 Larrivees and 1 Martin.
Both Larrivees are 03's Om-03R and L-03
both are great guitars.
One thing that no one else has mentioned is Larrivee will sound good with Light gauge or Medium gauge strings. My Martin sounds weak with light gauge.

I like the solid wood construction, 1 3/4" nut and satin finish, and flamed maple binding.
I think the 03 is a very good value. I have had the Larrivees since 2003 and 2006 (I think) and have not had any problems with either of them at all.

I did play a couple of different guitars before buying.

I have two Larrivees; a D-40r and a D-03. I bought both of them unseen. Both are wonderful guitars.

I think you made a great choice. I have been tempted by their take on walnut. Now I'm am more so. I suspect you will be quite pleased. Congrats.

Congratulations! I think you will end up loving that guitar and from the pictures I have seen on Reverb it will be stunning looking. Be sure to do a NGD when you get it.

Congrats, and it’s better than getting a new puppy as, you won’t have to clean up after it.
