Avian Ibas Multi-Scale
Avian IBIS Deluxe Multi Scale
From 2016 in like new condition. Purchased from Dream Guitars (see below) Avian guitars is the brainchild of USA guitar makers Michael Bashkin, an expert in multi-scale and Harry Fleishman. The duo creates the designs, which are then built in China under the strict scrutiny of another relocated USA guitar maker, Abe Wechter. This means that it’s possible to buy boutique design at a more affordable price. It uses all-solid wood construction with Sitka spruce top and rosewood back and sides along with a 3 piece neck. The guitar has a bevel to the lower bout to facilitate a more comfortable hold and a demi-cutaway. Being a fan-fret guitar, with a longer scale on the bass strings - this Avian spreads from a conventional 645mm (25.4 inches) on the treble side to 660mm (25.98 inches) on the bass side. This giving the best scale length for each string for a more balanced and full tonal sound. Multi-scale is particularly well suited to drop tunings due to the longer bass strings. Very easy to play with a thin neck. It’s amazing how quickly those who have played it have forget about the scale differences. Specs Nut 1 3/4 Saddle 2 5/16 String to string at the nut. 1.5 Neck thickness (compressed strings included) 1st Fret 27/32 (.845) 10th Fret 30/32 (.9375) Action 6th/1st .10/.065 Scales 25.4 to 25.98 Thickness Neck block 3 1/2 Heel Block 4 3/8 Lower Bough Width 16 Comes with a custom fit hard case. New price on latest version (Songbird) with the same customization options is over $2,000. Priced at $ 1075 Shipped Lower 48 states. Sorry No Trades. From Dream Guitars web site where this guitar was purchased new. “A few years ago, we began the search for great sounding but reasonably priced guitars to offer our many clients who were asking for such an animal. As luck would have it at that same point in time, our luthiers Michael Baskin and Harry Fleishman were in the midst of designing guitars that would be built overseas as a new company called Avian. Today, these guitars are hand-made in a small factory only building Avian guitars. This is not a situation where a huge factory is pumping out 20 different brands. That is why the quality is so great and the tone so wonderful. Michael and Harry have personally trained this small, talented staff and the results are evident. We have sold many of these guitars to people here in the shop where quite frankly they sell themselves with just a few moments of play.” Video Samples https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dPJm1ceBU8I https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3bsoiRO_Ux0 https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=o5SsSe2B9eE

Good price for a fun guitar. I had a couple of Falcon models. Well made guitars and great features.
