Default New Circa OMC

I am on my second Circa guitar now. Ten years ago I took delivery on a 00 with a cutaway. It soon became my favorite guitar and I have used it on almost every gig that I have played since then.

At some point I decided that I wanted another one but I wasn't really sure what I wanted. I finally decided that I wanted an OM with a cutaway. John offered that he had a few really nice Cocobolo sets left and he suggested that it would go well with a German top.

I took delivery of the guitar last week and I am very pleased with it. It is very balanced. It has plenty of bass and it has what I think is the signature John Slobod sound. The E and B strings are bright but not thin or brittle sounding. They have a "thick" sound. IMO

This guitar has John's take on an arm bevel. It is subtle but it works great. It also has the Torch inlay and style 42 fretboard inlay.

Randall, that is spectacular! That bevel is almost invisible! Congrats on what is no doubt a stellar instrument!

Great looking Circa! I’m fairly certain I know how that one sounds, so I’m not surprised you’re happy. Probably pretty aggressive on the attack with plenty of volume?

Yes, I echo everyone's comments, beautiful and wonderful rolled into one. Our very own Justonwo got me to really understand how good John's guitars are when he let me the the first to play his new Circa last year when he shipped it to my house for a party. The first strum filled the room with sound, and it has 16 foot ceilings haha!!! All I remember is clarity and volume!

Congrats!!!

I think you know that but I will say it again: a cocobolo set like that, is IMPOSSIBLE to find those days. I mean... it is a one-life's set. Seriously. Incredible guitar!

Beautiful work. I like that unobtrusive arm bevel, too.

Matt showed me this earlier and my jaw dropped. Never seen John do a bevel and the woods are top notch as expected...this must be such a joy to play and just admire from across the room!!
