It's taken me 4 days to put in 15/20 hours, but it feels great to be at the bench!!! To be fair, I've also been handling deferred business and social stuff that built up while I hid out recuperating.

Here are the Adi top and D. tucurensis back with their marquetry and bracing:

I don't do clean up on the top till the end as I do NOT want to change the thickness more than necessary.

This D. tuc. is very dark, it makes the Amazon backstrip look light, which it isn't:

And hello to Kathy.

I try to avoid bringing the same stuff to the same show. I do have an FT-15 in BRW that few have seen and holds up well under close scrutiny, but can't count on it still being here in 3 months time.

Continuing to work at a relatively moderate pace, and so far everything is in the groove. I expect to close this FT-16 Penngrove box on my next working day, probably Monday.

I think my standard shot with the spring clips holding on the Cuban Cedar kerfed lining is a classic, and I never tire of it:

I guess you never have to worry about finding a bag chip for the left over potato chips!

I think I mentioned that I am making this larger guitar because last year a known wiseguy pointed out that I had only brought small guitars to Tom's B.I.G. show. Only today did it occur to me that he was riffing on the name of the show, not so much any shortfall on my part. Glass houses etc.

I have titled this guitar: "BIG(er) Penngrove". My penmanship is not improved by trying to write legably next to a cutaway. The box is closed and I am moving into binding.

Looking mighty fine. It just occurred to me also that I don't believe I have ever played any of your bigger guitars unless I did the day I spent in your shop with you? None the less, I will be very excited to try this one out! Thanks for building it!!!!
