Hi Mark,
.. wowzaa.. that looks nice and fits very well, the woods and shapes and all... I wonder if the minimized ‚open space‘ for sound to reach the player is sufficient to be similar to the design without the „ floating egg“ (or maybe even better ?) Hope it does, it looks cool (but that shouldn‘t defeat the purpose). ... and how is it attached and held in place ? ... couldn‘t make that out in the picture Fun to follow this as usual ! Lonzo |

This is such a cool detail! Love seeing how it all comes together to form such a perfect union...

Thanks Lonzo! I'm confident I have enough of an opening spread across a large enough area because I've successfully done something similar on a Pińa before: How did I do it? Using the sheer force of my will and creative energies I was able to overcome the mere forces of nature (using a Black Ebony armature) to hold that floating Koa oval suspended in position . Thanks for commenting, Mark

Thanks Lonzo, I’m confident we will have fine sounding instrument here. Voicing the top went well and tapping the closed body is giving me everything I want to hear!

Can’t wait to see the Koa binding - will really enhance the beautiful lines on this guitar. Starting to think about fretboard markers - I don’t want to go crazy with bling inlays, but do want something distinctive, unique, and clean. Probably something in metal, but not sure. This is part of the fun of the custom build journey - working with the luthier to craft an instrument that is unique and connected to you.

End Graft
The last step before I start the binding is selecting and installing the Koa end graft:
