Nice tune. I like the licks you are playing and that nice picking groove you have going! (was somebody revving an engine in the back ground). My only suggestion is that with a 6 plus minute song it is kind of long. It seems like there are 2 stories there. One of him and his solitary life, and one of him and how he affected the singer and the singer's mother. Maybe isolate the story to 1 or the other and then use what you remove as the basis for a different song. Well done, you have a cool style and that song reminded me of John Prine meets Chris Knight, and that is some real deal country there!

Thanks, I didn't realize it was 6 minutes till I uploaded it. Gonna pull it down and revise it. The revving of the engine is my stupid cell phone. I forgot to shut the ringer off.
Funny you say Chris Knight, I discovered him not too long ago. Bass player and I are working on some actual professional recordings as well. Don't know how I'll integrate them with video. That's another nightmare I have no idea about. Last edited by knuckle; 06-15-2011 at 09:01 AM. |

I took it down, was too long, rearranged the lyrics. See the deadbeat dad thread in this forum.
