What is a good chromatic tuner?
Does anyone have recommendations for a good chromatic tuner? Something that will let me tune down or up a couple steps. I was looking at the Boss TU-12H.

Go for the gusto and by the Boss TU-2....awesome pedal, lots of features, built like a truck. (Nifty mute feature too)

I use the Boss TU-12h for my 12 string and been very happy with it both for standard tuning or when tuning down. My ear isn't great when it comes to tuning and it has been great for me.

I use the NexFX Pedal Tuner (NEX-5000) by Sabine. It's built like a tank! If you have a pickup that doesn't have volume control, stomp and mute! Taylor clinician Steven King uses the Sabine AX-2000W Contact AutoTuner. If you have an active pickup in your guitar, just turn the volume down to zero and let this thing do its thing. He mounted it where the neck meets the body of his 814ce.

The Boss TU-2 only works if you have a pickup right?

Yes, you do need a pickup in order to use the TU-2 because it doesn't have a mic. If you don't have a pickup on your guitar, then you have to find a chromatic tuner that has a mic input.
