I'd get a Fender Stratocaster. I have 3 Fenders and a 4th Stratocaster that is a copy made by SX. The pickups in each are versatile enough to ring "cleans" all day long, but still handle "heat" well.

Player series is not a bad guitar. I much prefer the MIM neck, myself.

Only fender I have left is a MIM Strat.

May need a bit of attention to fret ends, and nut.

But, I just bought a new Les Paul Standard, who's nut needed lowering on 3 of the 6 slots.

Played a new Les Paul Classic, that all 6 slots were too high.

Find one you like. Give it a little love.

Good to go.

I bought, and still have, a MIM Player Telecaster last summer. Maple FB in the sunburst. It is a very nice, well-made guitar. I have a bunch of guitars, including an American Standard Strat I bought new in 94. The quality of the MIM is on par. I’m an acoustic player mostly and a Les Paul fan, but Strats and Telescopes have their own thing. I don’t think you’ll be disappointed in the Player Telecaster. Good luck.
