If Ohio State doesn't make a deep run in the playoffs, we can pretty much forget the "Big Ten" for quite a while!

What do you mean? They are probably going to be just as good next year.
Anyway, there’s only two games in the playoffs if you win out.

Too many coaching changes due to miss-hires.
At the moment it’s the edge in talent and coaches both.

OSU grad here. Before the season started I was a bit nervous about our prospects. New coach, new QB, and playing The Team Up North at their place. Turns out we were and are in good hands with coach Day.

I expected a very tough game against Wisconsin. They are a quality team and it is just hard to beat a good team twice in one season. That we came back from a 21-7 halftime deficit actually encourages me, as it tells me we CAN play from behind - something we didn't have to do all season - and that we can handle adversity in a big game.

As for the playoffs, I would rather have opened with Oklahoma because I believe their defense is capable of being exploited more than Clemson's, but I understand LSU getting the top nod. As for Clemson, I truly believe they do not get nearly the respect they deserve, and it will take a monumental effort on our part to beat them. I only hope that our history of being battle tested against numerous top ten teams this year will give us a bit of an edge, as I don't believe Clemson has played a team with the combination of offense, defense and overall team speed that we possess. We'll see. Go Bucks!

Also OSU grad, and wife, and kids. I suffered through the Earl Bruce and John Cooper years.

Our defense seems weak to me. Early in the Michigan game they had no problems moving the ball against us. And that first half of the Wisconsin......yikes.

I hope I’m wrong, but I don’t see our defense being able to keep up with Clemson.

Ohio State is undefeated yet they are #2. There is no reason to complain or worry. The NCAA ranking system is as ambiguous and political as the electoral college. Be grateful that you were able to get the Big Ten championship with a first year coach. Urban Meyer seems OK with it lol!

I'm an OSU fan and I have another question. How is OSU the underdog against Clemson yet ranked higher? If the expectation is that Clemson will win, shouldn't they be #2 and OSU #3?

I know the swap of #2 and #3 doesn't really matter but still....

I’m not real happy with the coaching on the defensive side of the ball and our line backers are underachievers.

The rankings are based on what a team has achieved up to that point. I don't believe it has anything to do with future schedule, which is what the odds makers are looking at.

That and it’s like they have no clue how to tackle a runner. Uh, try his legs, not grabbing his upper body while he continues to run and easily breaks away from you.

Losing after competing in a tough game is one thing, getting "crushed" like OSU and Wisconsin did to U of Mich, is quite another thing.

With OSU vs Clemson, and Alabama vs U of Mich.(Another "crushing" is in order here)-----the "Big Ten" is on trial against the South's best!
