Default Hey Taylor!

You know how Martin has the DX2AE? Wouldn’t it be nice if Taylor made a 100 or 200 Series with a sapele top? It’s sad that you can’t get a Taylor model with a mahogany or sapele topped guitar for under $1000.

GS Mini mahogany top. You can get a Taylor with a hog top for under $1,000.

A mini is not quite the same because the scale might be too cramped for many.

I understand that, but the lament was "you can't get a Taylor with a mahogany top for under $1000", not "you can't get a full size Taylor with a hog top for under $1000". If the OP is not aware of the GS Mini they may want to check it out. They are a nice guitar.

I was referring to a full size guitar, that’s why I mentioned the Martin DX2.

You could look for something used and might get close.

I was coming back to say what Pork Pie Guy said, but he did it better by providing some links.

"Previously Enjoyed" is a good option.
