Default Santa Cruz OM/PW - SOLD pending payment

Offering for your consideration my 2006 or 2007 Santa Cruz OM/PW, serial number 3201, Sitka over East Indian Rosewood. This is an exquisite instrument. Shimmery, glassy high end, rich, balanced, and very controlled lows, and very responsive to dynamics. Harmonics ring out, even dissonant chords sound sweet. Super light weight, articulate, crisp, sparkly, with bass you can feel in your chest and great overtones from the rosewood. Forward shifted Sitka bracing. Sustain that lasts all day.

A few years ago I was away from home for a while and I stashed my most valuable instruments at a friend's house. He's a luthier with a great ear and he pronounced it the best sounding guitar of my collection.

I'm second owner. First owner must have played it a lot — he said it was his main instrument and had only been played at home and in the studio — because it has a number of very shallow, almost invisible dimples in the finish of the Sitka top, the kind you have to turn the guitar to catch the reflections in a certain light to see well. There are also some mars on the back and the TKL case is scuffed but works perfectly. While it has minor nicks on the edge of the headstock, there are no major or deep scratches or nicks anywhere on the neck, top, back or sides.

I tend to take better care of my guitars than the first guy did, but that's water under the bridge. Cosmetically I'd deem the guitar "Very Good" but functionally excellent; the playability is fantastic. I'd always prefer to have a buyer be pleasantly surprised by the condition rather than at all disappointed, thus my full disclosure on the cosmetics. Yes, it's gotten a lot of play but it is not a "player grade" instrument. It is a superb, studio ready instrument.

I hadn't been thinking about moving this one, but for a number of reasons, I've decided to list it. The few currently listed on Reverb seem overpriced. But based on the scarcity of them, on what I have invested in it, and most importantly, on the superb quality of this instrument, I'd like to net $3600. Fully insured shipping continues to become more expensive and would probably be $150-$200 from Tennessee to most points. Thus my asking price of $3750 shipped CONUS, paid by Venmo or bank check. Recent difficulties with PayPal have led me to eschew their services. At this time, no interest in a trade; it's herd-thinning time.

Excellent demo Mike. Reminded me of Dire Straits "Sultan of Swing" mixed with something like Chris De Burgh's "Don't Pay the Ferryman." Well done!

These are great guitars. GLWS
