Beautiful!! Congratulations! And the Builder's Edition will mean the inside is as good as the beauty outside.

Fantastic! I haven't seen a Grand Pacific yet but it's high on my list of guitars I need to try.

What made you get the 717 over other Taylor models? Were you able to play it before you bought it? Congrats and Enjoy!

Congrats on a very nice looking guitar. Please tell me you rested the guitar on a hidden cloth of some type when you shot the photos. Haha

Nice guitar, but I'm not so sure about that strap button on the back there.

Thanks again!

I haven't has a good look inside, but was trying to read the writing on the preamp for the phase switch mentioned on the tutorial video. In the past, I have had a few disappointing scares looking too close at the beginning, so...just playing it!

And as for picking the 717e, that is what my internet research lead me to pick...luckily, 'cos the shop just got it in before I grabbed it!

And the strap button position....a couple of the videos say it is to do with the new neck and playability all the way to the guitar body without a button in the way of your hand. Even though I have a small collection of free guitar strap gifts from purchasing guitars in the past, I don't often use them. So can't help with the question really.

It still has the strings that came on it, so it is early days yet! I have worn the clang off them though.....

P.S. - I tried the Taylor Ebony slide, like it a lot, on a guitar I have in Open G tuning and I really noticed the sharp edges on the guitar after the BE. I can't say I have ever noticed that before in my whole life. Out comes the sander! Chamfered edges rule!

I received a 717e WHB a few weeks ago. It is even better than the one I demo’d at the debut event. A truly different Taylor! Great looks, sound and action - still breaking it in but I love it.

Different and in true Taylor fashion, a really nice look. Super nice. Sounds good just looking at it. Enjoy the tones....

How would you compare the new 717e BE neck to your other Taylors in your list of guitars in your footer? I played another Taylor covered in inlays while the sales guy got me a capo to try, sorry didn’t catch the model but the neck was also quite chunky. (I looked their site up before to find the model but they don’t have it listed online, while naughty, naughty, they still have mine listed for sale - good reason to ring before you go racing down your shop to buy their listing!)

Beautiful slope shouldered dred btw.

Taylor’s answer is that because the neck has a narrower neck heel the strap pin had to be installed at the base. Even a custom order cannot have the strap pin located in the normal position.

Congratulations! That's a beautiful guitar and IMHO it's got the best onboard pickup/preamp system available. Enjoy!

Congrats! I played one it sounded fantastic and felt fantastic. I'm a big fan of the Builders Edition appointments. I tried on a pair of my wife's super soft and thick socks once. Reminds me of that

Well the satin finish of the Builder’s Edition is probably like her lingerie, if you want to try that!

But yes, it is very appealing, not quite an ‘old glove’ but it will be in years to come I imagine.

The whole combo of features is a stroke of genius. Kudo, Andy. And Taylor! Great stuff.
