Default MARTIN LIFESPAN SP 80/20. Any take on them?

This is the first time I use them. Never played a Lifespan before, although I've played a couple of times with 80/20s. Always love their kind of scooped sound, although they tend to mellow quite fast. How about the 80/20 with the Lifespan stuff?

They sound about the same, just a different feel.

The same take I have on all strings. I enjoy Martin strings on several of my guitars and the LifeSpans are excellent strings. Like guitars, I don't stick with one brand or even model of one brand, I experiment and use the string that I like best on any one guitar. However, I always include Martin strings in my experimentation with each, and every, guitar until I narrow it down to one string make/model for each guitar independently. I have found that a great string (set) isn't always the best on every guitar.

I don't like the new Authentic Acoustic ones as much as the older ones, which I liked less than the ones that used to be coated ('treated') by the Cleartone people.

These new ones are immediately mellower when put on - similar to when the old ones had been played for a week. But they don't seem to last as long either.
I broke an A string on 1-week-old strings, hadn't broken a wound string in a few years since buffing out some burrs on the saddle.

How is lifespan longetivity? i had bad experiences with EXP ( only lasted 2-3 days until it corroded badly ) so i stuck with elixir for the time being. Wouldn't mind trying lifespan if it last longer than EXP though

I like them when I can get them on sale. I like the 80/20 Lifespans much better than the Phosphor Lifespans.

I don't think they last as long as the EXPs. Or Elixirs for that matter.

In my experience they last about 25% longer than the standard sets. Slightly slicker/oilier feel. Tone is negligibly the same.

I get about 3 weeks of moderate play time on the phosphor lifespan 2.0s. Others probably could get more play out of them but i change them out the moment I notice the bass getting flubby and dull.

Certainly not elixir longevity for me, but I think the 2.0s sound good and don’t corrode on me so I bought a handful of phosphor and two 80/20 sets.

The old style would last me about 6 weeks. These new ones 3-4 weeks, at most.

Not a fan of Martin strings except the Retro ones. The others are just okay.

Give me DR Sunbeams or Martin Retro strings.
