Default Focusrite Scarlett 2i2

I had wanted an updated desktop recording usb interface for a while. I decided to go to GC and see what they had. I settled on a FocusRite Scarlett 2i2. Yes, its not high end, but it has a small footprint and from a test I did tonight it is serviceable for my needs. I have a Zoom H5, but I'm always afraid its going to get knocked on the floor if I hit it by accident or pull a mic cord the wrong way one day. The Zoom will be used for a quick recording with the built ins or in my "studio" for a serious recording with an AT2035 pair and mounted to a mic stand pole.

Solid choice for a 'starter' AI, although I would move up to the 2i4 - only $20 more at Sweetwater this week! Hope that you got the software package that's being offered right now with it.

I like the Focusrite small interface line too. Simple to setup and use. I don't know that I have the ears to judge their sound in some rigorous way, but their utility is off the charts good in my experience.

I'm going to download the software tonight, but I already have a few daws. I'll try it though.
