Just returned from Nick's shop. Hope you don't mind, but I gave your new guitar a try. Bob...you will be very happy! Amazing tone that I can't describe, so I won't even try. All I can say is its a Franklin! Interesting I played it with the cow bone and then with the mammoth. There is a notable difference and I preferred the mammoth. Nick mentioned he will send you both.

You are welcome.... I would not have been able to share any of this without Nick and Jeanne generously taking the time to take images throughout the build process and sending them to me.

Thanks for checking it out and letting me know your thoughts...

That's just beautiful, Bob. You've got a treasure there!

Steve, thanks so much... I will have it with me at Artisan next month, but I believe you are exhibiting at B.I.G. and La Conner this year, so our paths will unfortunately not cross.

And the year will be the poorer for that...

Nick is on my short list of builders, for sure. I've been super amped to see this build develop and I can only imagine how amazing this guitar will sound. The wood is absolutely beautiful and virtually every single detail and appointment has a sublime understated elegance to it. Congrats and I look forward to hearing your thoughts after you've played it!!!!!

Thank you.... Like most projects I have embarked on, the final result is a collaboration between the luthier and the client. The final design was not fully prospectively planned and many aspects were decided jointly as Nick moved forward to address challenges or choices.

Tomorrow is the day... Unfortunately, tomorrow morning will be 9 F so I will not be able to open the case for at least 1/2 day to let it come up to room temperature slowly (patience).

If I were in your shoes, I would find myself sitting and staring at the closed case for hours...

It is suppose to arrive before noon (USPS reliability...laugh) and I figure by the time my work day is done by late afternoon it should be "openable" temperature wise. Fortunately, I have some interesting projects work-wise to distract me. I have waited for this guitar since June of 2017, I think a few more hours is doable...

While you are waiting for it to warm up, I suppose you could post a picture of the shipping box...
