I ordered an Ameritage case for one of my Edsel Martin dulcimers. It arrived today. It's beautifully made and it fits like a glove.

Hi folks,
It's great to see so much discussion about our new case and as expected people will always favour one brand or another. We totally get it!
If anyone has any questions about the case I will be happy to help.

Of course it is a very different proposition to our old Hiscox case but after a long time using those we had an opportunity to create something new with Ameritage.
The case itself whilst similar in appearance to other manufacturers' Ameritage cases is custom to us.
It is slightly lighter than a standard 'Gold' Ameritage model but offers as much protection. The outer shell has been custom fit to each of our four body sizes so from Wee Lowden up to O you actually have a smaller case footprint than before for every model, even the 'O' and yet internally we have designed it to offer better protection than ever, particularly around the neck area.

The cases rolled out on our top end 50 Series models at the start of 2018. The reception was fantastic and as such we decided that we would offer these on every model in the range as a form of upgrade at no extra cost.

As a few folks have already noted here that using a custom case like this does not make for cost saving and I can honestly say that at Lowden we constantly strive to improve our guitars without compromise, we don't cut corners.
We made a video with George because after 2 years of development leading to the launch this month, George wanted to explain why he likes this case so much and he wants our customers to know that he is proud of it as are the rest of us at Lowden HQ.

Anyways, hopefully this answers a few questions but if I missed anything don't hesitate to ask!

Al

Actually - they would probably get a pretty substantial discount just by contracting to order say 1000 cases over a period of so many years.

Hiscox's remind me of Ovation cases from '89! Hate the look.

I love the functionality of my only Hiscox: a Stratocaster model. The look doesn't quite match the image of a high-end all wood acoustic, though.

If George says he has come up with a better case, whatever the reason, I can live with his choice.

I've recently traded my F-23's Hiscox case for one of the new Lowden Ameritage cases. It is a beautiful case, very well finished off, superb fit, and it's the canine's cojones as far as I'm concerned.

Is it as strong as a Hiscox? Dunno - I'm guessing perhaps not, the Hiscox cases are virtually bomb-proof. And it's noticeably heavier than the Hiscox it replaced. But it's a very classy case in which to store a very classy guitar.

No regrets!

The usual disclaimers apply......IMHO, YMMV etc.
