wishing you a speedy recover, Mau......"stuff happens".....we all know....but it's a bummer when it does! I have a feeling you'll be back at it soon....I'm sure the new guitar beckons.....but take it slow and all should be fine. Ice is your friend right now!

Hope you feel better, Mau!! Heal up, and as other say, don't rush anything. Gorgeous guitar, my friend.

What a great looking Olson. Trusting you will have a full and complete recovery.

And maybe your local drug/sports store would sell a wrist guard.

I really hope you get well soon :/
Thanks Marcus. I really appreciate your concern -- although you'd probably get along better with my mom...

Doctors are free here in Canada -- but I rarely pay them a visit and it's still a bit premature to seriously worry about this. I'll schedule an appointment if I'm not better in a couple of weeks.

If you're willing to pay in advance for duties and shipping round way (five figures for sure), I'm happy to ship it to you...

Thanks, John! Just a little frustrated at the moment as I can't play and even working on the computer is painful...

Thank you. I often pray for family and friends -- but my wrist is not worthy!

Thanks, Glenn. I'm not sure I could wait for six weeks though...

I can't tune my guitar at this point -- even smooth Gotoh 510s require my right hand... I can play simple tunes which require no wrist movement and no barre chords though. Maybe I can give "Amazing Grace" a try later...

Thanks, Fred. It's very frustrating at the moment. I think it's going to take a while to heal. Maybe I can work on my right hand technique in the meantime...

Thank you, Mike! It's a lovely guitar and I even tuned it in standard. That was before the Halloween incident of course...

Thank you. Among Jim's "normal" guitars (e.g. not guitars with a bazillion inlays), I'd say this is one of the prettiest...

It would be a real tragedy if I don't recover fully from this. I have good hopes though.

Guess I must be getting old eh hopefully your work doesn't require much wrist movement or physical labour. And nothing is too small to pray for, will keep you in mine too keep up the positive attitude!

Salut Mau,

Congrats about the new guitar. The maple looks fantastic. I hope you get inspiration from the tone of the instruments and give us (your exquisite) music to hear.

Hope you recover fast. In any case, don't ever send this (or any other) guitar or to Minnesota to give it playtime....Just call me I'll be there in about an hour

Bye,

J-F

You're like the warm, cheerful and caring son that my mom has always wanted. Everything that I'm not...

Here's how I fund my guitars: http://www.cicicresearch.com/

Merci JF. If you ever make it to my place in an hour, I'd have to assume that you drove over the speed limit...

It still hurts when I play the guitar but the pain is no longer unbearable. I should be mostly fine by end of week.

Hi Mau,

Thanks for the link to your business. Very cool! Good for you and congratulations! The success of your company is a huge thing!

I'm also glad to hear that you are not hurting quite so much and that you can see some healing in the not-too-distant future. Very good news!

Thanks, Mike. I only really worried for about one day. As soon as I noticed a small improvement I knew I'd be okay.

Thanks, Glenn. I owe my business to the many friends I've made in the industry. I won't be wealthy in this lifetime -- but it's a nice gig and I'm very thankful for it.

Well, there's my name on the neck block...

I'm very, very happy with the guitar. I can't wait to spend some quality time with it.

Mau,

When someone says you need to take it on the chin they don't mean it quite that literally.

Hope you heal quickly. I messed up my left wrist a few years back in a rollerblading accident - wrists can take a long time to heal. Hope you aren't left handed like me, signing papers sucks when you can't hold a pen.

Hi, Mau,

Been a while! The newest Olson looks drop-dead gorgeous (no surprise there), and I am eager to hear it once you are more fully healed and are ready to record. I imagine it will inspire new songs that the others wouldn't have. Sorry to hear about your accident. It's amazing how easy we can take our health for granted until something happens.

You definitely have an amazing collection of Olsons, and it makes me happy to see you derive so much pleasure from them as you share your music.
