Default I Am A Soldier

I suck at singing, and can't really play guitar that good either, but I love writing songs.

I wrote this song when I was in the Army (way back in the 1980's)

Since I recently got a D-28, put a K&K mini in it, and started recording again, I figured I would record this song. And yeah... I ain't that good at recording either... hahaha

At least you may enjoy the words.

This is a very nice song, Bob. And your Martin sounds great. Recording is fine, I might bring the vocal a little up a little higher next time. Nice work

You're too kind... thank you.

I'm not a good singer so I guess I'm trying to hide the vocals...lol

I disagree. You don’t suck at singing and I really enjoyed this. Would love to hear some more originals.

I don't do country music or even singer/songwriter stuff but that doesn't mean I don't appreciate that sort of music. For me, as an outsider to this style, it sounds absolutely fine. Better than fine, it sounds as good as many other artists of this ilk that I've heard. There are some interesting chord changes at the transitions to chorus as well.
Very well done.
Mike. (who wishes he could sing)

Not bad at all. And that is not really my kind of music.

I thought the song had some parts where you could use your voice more boldly. Perhaps together with playing more boldly.

I understood that you recorded the guitar with a pickup. Most likely, it can sound even better if you experiment a little with capturing the guitar with a microphone.

I'm a want-to-be but never will be a writer or singer but I certainly enjoy what little I can play on guitar. I believe we all have something to contribute and it's all about the joy that music brings in any form, that matters (IMHO).

Thanks for sharing!

Mike
