Question Where did you screen name originate?

Just for fun, tell us where your screen name originated. Some are more obvious than others, or so we assume, but others, not so much. Obvious or not, chime in. Surely we can contribute to this thread without disagreeing and calling other forum members "wrong" (maybe?). So let's go.

Mine originated years ago when I first got on the internet and discovered I needed a "screen name" instead of my actual name to use in forums. At the time, a dietary staple for me was salsa (with chips, of course). The 'rev' is my profession. So there you go. Now, you can sleep tonight knowing this information!

Your turn.

Haas was my best dog of all time. The women at the boarding facility thought he was a real looker and gave him the name Haasome combining Haas and Handsome. So in memory of Haas.

For a brief period of time in the late 90s, Tim Reynolds, who most know as the frequent collaborator with and now member of the Dave Matthews Band, changed his band's name from TR3 (or Tim Reynolds Trio) to Puke Matrix. I saw them in Richmond at the time and later bought his "Puke Matrix" tour CD.

When I found out I needed a screen name more and more frequently, all the ones I was shooting for were always taken. That CD happened to be handy, so there you go. For some reason or another competition for "pukematrix" has always been pretty negligible.

Got mine from a body shop manager who used to buy ford body repair parts from me. Don’t know how he came up with it. I don’t think there is such a thing as a pinweasel.

I am a bird biologist/Museum curator by day, and amateur musician by night. So I combined the two interests. The avatar is one of the birds I've had the pleasure to study.

I think this is a great post by the way. thanks. It's interesting to read the others and I look forward to more.

Willie Mays was one of my early heroes and an all time favorite. He was known as The Sayheykid. The name I use is based on that and shares my regard for him as one of the all time greats and a good man.

Mine came from a comedy bit frequently aired on the Bob and Tom radio show. In the bit, the guy called a Mercedes dealership saying he wanted to buy a Mercedes and wated to come in and test drive one. He then introduced himself as" I am El Conquistador" to the poor sales guy that answered the call, then insisted that he be reffered to only as El Conquistador. You could tell the sales guy REALLY wanted to sell this guy the Mercedes, but, every time he called him, Mr, or buddy, the comic corrected him saying "I am not mister, I am El Conquistador!"

My wife and I both found this very funny. So, when I discovered I needed a screen name, I realized that if I used "El Conquitador", every time I logged in to AGF, the computer screen reads, "Welcome back, El Conquistador. So, that is what I did.

Here is the bit: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Qn6OrlRjKMA
