Lovely piece, Barry! It sounds really original and refreshing.

I bet you have noticed how noisy nylon strings are in terms of amplifying string noise. I sure notice this when I play and particularly when I record. It takes a lot of work for me to play with minimal noise.

Not that your piece is terribly noisy -- it's not. You did a great job on this!

Nice Barry! The Cordoba offers a nice balance for your playing across the strings and I think that brings out the melody in nice ways.

Nylon is a bit harder to play without a lot of string noise, you're right. I have to be careful of attack angle (and I still get noise). Playing a classical is fun though and for composing it's great. Everytime I pick it up I get fresh ideas.

I would suggest not using picks for playing on the nylon guitar. You can hear them scraping across the strings and ultimately
they limit the degree of tonal expression you can achieve with flesh and nails.

Oh, I thought you were experimenting with those. However on re-listen I hear the scraping sound on both clips. For example listen to clip two starting at about 1:00 and onward. Play more with the tip of the finger rather than dragging the finger over the string.

Thanks Fred! I really like the mellowness of nylon. I think I found that cedar sound I was looking for.

Nylon is a work in progress which should last well into my retirement years,

I did try the Alaska Piks (again) and I wasn't thrilled with them.

I hear what you are pointing out and I started working on using more of the tip of the finger. Thanks for pointing it out.
