Default Martin D-13E or Yamaha FGX5 or Martin D-15M

Hi!
Currently looking for a intermediate guitar that can cover a variety of styles.

I'm hoping to get everyone's opinions on the comparison between Martin D-13E, Yamaha FGX5 or Martin D-15M.

I'm wondering if anyone who have played these guitars have any experience or insights that might be helpful in comparing these three.

Thanks a lot!

If you're gonna plug in, you'd make a big mistake not getting the Yamaha FGX5. The Atmosfeel pickup is AWESOME whether you play fingerstyle or strum. Unplugged it sounds good too. Nothing really fancy looking about it, but it already has nice appointments out of the box like ebony bridge pins and bone nut and saddle.

I haven't played the Yamaha, but they are usually very good guitars for the money.

I've tried the D-15 and it is a very good guitar that you can get used for as little as $700.

I voted for the D-13 because when I tried it, I thought it was at a much higher level in the Martin line-up until I looked at the tag. It's a beautiful guitar that will give you a lot of the rich Martin tone.

You can get the D-13 for around $900 for our forum sponsors. It's a real bargain.

Interesting question as I was considering the new Yamaha or Martin's D"12"e. I've owned the D-15 and while t's a great guitar in it's own right, to me it's probably less versatile than the other two. I'd love to try both just for fun.
If you want my advice I say play the D-13e and the FGX5 and see if one of them suits you. I've heard really good things about both guitars. Best of luck in your search!

Why don't you wait until both the FG3 and FG5 are available in stores to compare side-by-side and with the others? It seems like the 3 and 5 are pretty much the same guitar except for price and where it was assembled.

I love my Martin DCRSG (now the DC13e) but the stock electronics is crappy and needed to be upgraded. But its a great guitar.
