Shanti Brazilian Rosewood Parlor Guitar by Michael Hornick for Sale
Hi All!
My Shanti Parlor Guitar made by Michael Hornick is SOLD. old growth master grade Adirondack Red Spruce top and old growth master grade Brazilian Rosewood Back and Sides. If you don't know who Hornick is, he with another famous builder, Jeff Traugott, learned and worked for Santa Cruz guitars starting in 1987. Each went on to become famous luthiers in their own right. Hornick is semi-retired right now and not taking in any more custom orders, so to get one of his guitars is very hard, as many people have been holding onto his creations and it's hard to get a new one! The fourth photo shows Hornick in the middle with two other guys all holding Shanti Parlor Guitars. His parlor guitars are known for their bigger sweet precise "Brazilian" even tone. This parlor guitar has a bigger sound than one would expect due to the sound ports on both sides of the sides, which allows the player to really hear what they are playing. The guitar has a great clear tone with a beautiful resonance. There's a small ding on the back of the neck as seen in photo ten, and there are some light abrasions on the finish of the back, which could be probably buffed out, photo eleven. The former owner repositioned a couple of the tuners so he could get his fingertips between the buttons better so there are a few extra holes on the back of the headstock as seen in photo tweleve. More photos on request.
