Default EZ tone Recording Kings anybody? NGD update

Has anyone recently got their hands on these yet, particularly the 000 12 fret?

Update: I got mine in. Quick review. I like it. Its light and sounds good. Fit and finish are actually really good. The tuners are good. Ive got a passive pure mini copy that I likely will install. This is a nice one.

Yep, I did. I was surprised at an all-solid under $300. I'd probably would have bought it but I prefer 14-fret and the ROS neck was rather chunky to me. I disliked the sound coming out of it. Sounded very thin to me and only a hair better than the Dirty 30s. Different tones for different people though.

I've played two or three of the all solid wood RK Plus models. In fact I just played one on Friday, maybe the same one I played before. It's the model made for Guitar Center and MFriend that has a pickguard.

Now I know it's subjective but after playing it again I'm still in line with what I said before. I'm not impressed with it at all. I don't know how the one with the laminated back and sides sounds. It has the 1 11/16-inch nut width which I like but the neck was chunkier than I would have liked. Mainly I just didn't like the sound at all. It was not refined at all and did not have a very complex sound to it, very much fundamentals.

Again somebody else will likely say they love the sound of it. I didn't the first time I tested one. I didn't the second time I tested one in another state. And I didn't like the sound a few days ago. So three strikes and I've taken it off my Christmas list to myself.

I hope you folks enjoy your guitars.

I played this exact model about a week ago. It sounded great and had a perfect setup straight out of the box. It sounded every bit as good as my ROS-10 or better. If you don't get a dud I'm pretty sure you will be pleasantly surprised when ya'lls arrive.

It didn't sound anything remotely close to the Dirty Thirty's stuff IMHO.

No, sorry. Pretty much all our stuff is with my E6OM although that is going to change. Those old clips are ouit of date and our skill level has increased dramatically since then. I strongly favor the Alvarez for pure acoustic (unamplified) stuff so newer clips will probably feature it. The E6 has a JJB pickup and is my stage performer.

My ROS sounds similar to my E6OM but doesn't respond as well to a heavy right hand strumming. Flatpicked is another story - the RK sounds great on flatpicked BG and Blues type fingerpicked of stuff. Very punchy. The 12 fret shape tends to push bass and treble while slightly scooping the mids.

If you flat pick or strum the RK with anything but a heavy hand it sounds excellent. It breaks up a bit when pushed hard though. The intonation on my RK is actually a little better than on either of my Eastmans and the tuners are quite accurate even though they are unbranded (probably Pings). I figure the EZ tone stuff will probably have the same hardware.

I think you will find the RK a excellent guitar for the $.

Got mine in ROS G9M
Very nice....Can't find any fit and finish problems...
Setup perfect from the box
LOUD
Sounds very nice...even/balanced across the the board
Nut is a little under 1 3/4
Neck roughly a small "C" like a Les Paul but smaller....satin finish
light weight
Would of preferred some bling.... (Looking at some fully bounded Yamaha's)
Thin finish which I like..
It's a keeper....

I wanted to check nut width. It does feel wider than 1 11/16" for sure. I like the neck. And I agree. Its loud. Thanes for chiming in. Glad you like it too.
